How to Find Feature Requests in Amazon Reviews

Discover missing features, accessory ideas, and product improvements buyers are already requesting in reviews.

Where feature requests hide

Feature requests often appear in reviews that are not fully negative. Buyers may like a product but still explain what would make it better. These comments are valuable because they point to demand with context.

Phrases to search

Search for “wish,” “would be better,” “needs,” “missing,” “should include,” “I had to,” “if only,” “next version,” and “instead.” These phrases often reveal desired features, bundles, or accessories.

Validate across products

A feature request is stronger when it appears across multiple products in the category. If only one product lacks a feature that others already include, the opportunity may be less differentiated.

Turn requests into requirements

Document the request, the buyer use case, the competing products affected, and the exact review examples. This turns review mining into a sourcing or product-design input.
